Heart to Heart

On Pain and Vulnerability

It is when you are tired and vulnerable that you are most easily tempted.

It is when you are exhausted and weak that you are easy prey.

It is when your heart is broken, and there is a great, gaping wound, that you are open to whatever or whoever steps in to fill in the gaps and mend the brokenness; often this leads to decisions and rationalizations that, when in your right mind, you would never have made.

Truth is this:  Jesus will never offer you sin to heal your brokenness.  He will never offer less than His best to fill your empty places.  Instead, He offers Himself and His perfect peace when you hold up the broken pieces to Him.

He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. ~Psalm 147:3
